Twelve Commonwealth Government staff had a great time participating in a workshop that had no Powerpoint slides. Rather it was five days of activity based learning. Daniel Freedman the trainer has a significant number of simulations that the participants work through followed by a time of reflection and discussion. Daniel’s studies in Anthropology and Computing together with the experiences of his own personal journey have contributed to a very interesting and informative workshop.
Daniel has been presenting his Technical Leadership Workshop in the US and Australia for many years. The participants found the workshop an excellent learning experience and this is highlighted by their comments.
I found the discussion after the simulations was incredibly enlightening. The accessibility of Daniel to discuss matters during the day and over lunch was invaluable.
I liked the simulation and the analogy/application of it to the actual workplace.
Usually I get really bored or restless in the afternoon of a typical training day (long hours staring @ the computer or powerpoints).
But this workshop is very good as it keeps me very interested with the content, the simulation exercises and understanding the concepts/lessons to be learned from these simulation exercises.
There were also a number of ‘gems’ and insights that I will be able to employ to improve my performance.
It was great ‘what to do’ rather than be shown ‘what not to do’, as typically happens in the workplace.
This course also gave me some skills with which to perform self-analysis.
This course has a great balance which allows easy concentration for the entire day.
The Technical Leadership Workshop can be conducted in your organisation. Please contact us for more information.
